NEWSLETTER No. 2 AUG 2008Money to burn? No? Then read on....
Everyone is feeling the effects of the credit crunch and nowhere more so than in our energy bills. One way to help reduce your bills and your use of gas and electricity is to install a wood burning stove. We have had so many enquiries regarding them that we are now installing them regularly and have models in the showroom for customers to view.
The stoves use renewable energy and are therefore environmentally friendly in addition to being much cheaper to run than traditional oil or gas heating systems. They are the obvious choice if you have wood freely available provided you don’t live in a smoke free zone.
No chimney? No problem. Provided a flue can be taken straight up through the roof to outside we can still install a stove for you.
The stoves make an attractive addition to any home. Multi fuel models are available as well as those with an optional boiler.
Wood Pellet Stoves
Wood pellet stoves come as stand alone room heaters as well as with integral boilers for central heating and domestic hot water and with wood pellets now more readily available these stoves must surely be a viable alternative.
Rayburn Cookery Open Day
Our next Rayburn cookery demonstration will take on a slightly different form from previous occasions this time. It's on Saturday 6 September 2008 at our Showroom in Langlands Street as before. John, our Chef will be cooking a variety of food from 12 noon until 3pm during which time visitors are welcome to drop in and sample the delicious fare. Prepare to taste the difference in food cooked on a Rayburn.
Please contact Robbie or Maria in the office on 01382 451717 or by email to indicate your interest in attending.
Our premises "Go Green"
We are totally committed to the use of renewable energy and since the last Newsletter in May we have installed an air source heat pump and a solar panel in our premises at Langlands Street. This is providing us with hot water and heating and will show us reduced bills in future years. The solar panel is a world leading Genersys1000-10 flat plate collector, has a 35 year life expectancy, comes with a 20 year warranty and is installed in over 50 countries worldwide. The air source heat pump is made by Dimplex.
Anyone considering installing domestic alternative energy systems can apply to SCHRI for a grant to help with the installation costs. The current maximum figure you may receive is 30% of the total cost up to a maximum of £4000. This is under the Phase 1 grant scheme. Commercial, Charity and Non-Profit making organisations can also apply for a grant under the Phase 2 scheme.
Visit the SCHRI website: www.energysavingtrust.org.uk for further information about grants and other renewable energy options.
Let us take care of your boiler
Don't wait until the cold weather arrives to have your boiler checked over. Contact Robbie or Maria to arrange a service before the winter. All boilers we install come with a 2 year warranty provided they are serviced annually. We can add you to our Annual Service list and contact you every year so you don't have to remember when the boiler was last serviced.
